Century 21 Blue Marlin Toy Drive

Century 21 Blue Marlin has partnered with Porsche of Destin, Gregg ORR Auto and the North Florida Region Porsche Club of America to collect toys for children who will visit the Emergency Room at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast this holiday season. Whether the children are at the local hospital to receive care themselves or for a loved one, the toys bring joy to the children and help make their time in the hospital a little brighter.

The community is encouraged to drop unwrapped new or gently used toys at Century 21 Blue Marlin's Destin or Santa Rosa Beach office locations. The Century 21 Blue Marlin staff will deliver the collected toys prior to Christmas. This is the sixth consecutive year for Century 21 Blue Marlin to host the toy drive, with each year the team collecting over 200 toys.

The following drop off locations are accepting toys now through Thursday, December 15, 2016.

Century 21 Blue Marlin Wishes You A Happy Thanksgiving

Every year we are more and more thankful for the blessings bestowed upon us, and this year is no different.

Century 21 Blue Marlin loves giving back to the community, and in 2016 we were blessed to work with the Silver Sands School. This school is a Special Day School which provides education services to students who because of their mental functioning levels require services beyond this offered by other special educational programs in regular schools. The proceeds of our 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament went to the Silver Sands School, and we raised $40,000! It was such a wonderful experience to work with such special kids, we are thankful that we were able to raise such ample funds for a great cause!
And now that the holiday season is here, we continue to be thankful for all of our blessings and we want give back! This year, Jerry Sullivan and the Century 21 Blue Marlin team will be participating in the Dig In! Holiday Brunch, which benefits Trees Destin! This yummy brunch will be on December 4th at the Destin Bay House, and you can join us by purchasing tickets!
Century 21 Blue Marlin is also hosting a Toy Drive to collect toys to give to children at Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast! All children deserve to have a magical day, no matter where they spend it. Stay tuned for more information on how you can get involved with us!
Now, we wanted to take a moment to thank our families, friends and colleagues for their continued support of all we do. At Century 21 Blue Marlin our goal is to not only be where your happiness starts, but also a continued source of happiness!  We hope this holiday season you have a bounty of blessings, health, love and good fortune to be thankful for.

Century 21 Blue Marlin is the Exclusive Onsite Real Estate at Jetty East

In the early 1970’s a group of forward thinking individuals had a vision for a Gulf front condominium on Holiday Isle in the heart of Destin, Florida. Jerry and Sally Lachapelle partnered with George Hayes and Dick Bennett to form a business partnership called BHL. While the impending venture was new for all parties involved, the fruition of Jetty East is still being enjoyed by locals and tourists decades later.
Best seen from an aerial view, the unique design and strategic placement of Jetty East Condominiums is evidence of the team’s innovation. Credited to the guidance of structural engineer, Henry Wright, and architect, William Simpson, Jetty East has stood tall for over four decades. Though not the original color, the coral pink building has become somewhat of an icon, welcoming guests the moment they cross the Destin Bridge.

Unlike most condominiums in the area, Jetty East’s units open into a sunny atrium that is welcoming and protected from the elements. In an effort to showcase as much of the beautiful outdoors Florida’s Emerald Coast is known for, the architects’ design provides incredible views from almost every unit, whether it be Gulf Views, Harbor Views, East Pass, Crab Island or Lake Christina. For a select few, owners of Deluxe units enjoy panoramic views of them all.

Just as the buildings longstanding history along Florida’s Emerald Coast pays homage to the masterminds and innovators behind its construction, same is true for the dedicated staff who are on hand to keep Jetty East Condominiums as pristine as the day they were completed in 1974. In fact, longtime Building Superintendent, Emery Mitchell came to work on the construction crew with his brother Dale Mitchell, and father Norman during the ground breaking in the early 1970’s. While Mitchell Senior went on to retire, and Dale transitioned into other opportunities, Emery Mitchell has remained on hand for over four decades dedicated to maintaining this historical building. Although the staff have worked diligently to keep Jetty East Condominiums far from need of repair, following 40 years of life it is time for some structural repairs and cosmetic maintenance to update the pinnacle condominium.

On November 4, 2016, owners and staff celebrated the kick off of their major maintenance project that will be overseen by local engineering firm, BE-CI, and ZMG Contractors.  Of course, Building Superintendent, Emery will be an advisor for the team along the way to make sure the unique building that he helped build is restored and will remain a relevant treasure of the Destin landscape for generations to come. The $4,000,000+ project includes concrete spalling repairs, sealing and painting of the building envelope and balconies, window and sliding glass door replacement, and swimming pool renovations. Additionally, many units will be receiving repair during the maintenance project.

Most major condominium projects that require a temporary closure or a special assessment trigger an increase in the number of units for sale.  Jetty East has experienced this phenomenon as well. Buyers are discovering it’s a great opportunity to purchase a unit at a great price knowing their value should be positively affected by the updates to the building. Since announcing Century 21 Blue Marlin as the exclusive, onsite real estate company for Jetty East in August 2016, the award winning real estate and vacation rental company has helped numerous buyers discover the hidden secret of Jetty East, tucked away on quiet Holiday Isle.

The upcoming renovation of the Jetty East Condominiums is a welcome site to longstanding residents and owners. While the condominium will be experiencing changes in the coming months, all parties involved want to stress that the unspeakable presence that Jetty East has been known for over four decades will remain unchanged.

Century 21 Blue Marlin Raises $40,000 for the Silver Sands School

Century 21 Blue Marlin hosted their fourth annual charity golf tournament at Regatta Bay Golf and Yacht Club on Friday, October 7, 2016, benefitting the Silver Sands School. Century 21 Blue Marlin raised $40,000 for the Special Day School, which provides educational services to students who because of their mental functioning levels require services beyond those offered by other special educational programs in regular schools.

Over 200 members of the local community joined together to participate in the charity golf tournament as sponsors, tournament players, raffle item donors, food and beverage donors, and volunteers. 120 golfers were greeted with Shrimp and Grits from Another Broken Egg, assorted Grayton Beer Company brews and Shore Thing Cigars Cut & Light Station with premium cigars for golfers to enjoy. Prior to the shotgun start, golfers grabbed lunch to-go from Lenny’s Sub Shop of Destin, who set up on the driving range. Throughout the course golfers enjoyed libations including beer by Landshark’s Pizza Co., Arnold Palmers by Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Chaste 850, Bloody Marys by Sunset Bay Cafe and Pineapple Rum Punch by Community Bank. Additionally, golfers enjoyed interactive hole sponsors including demo rides by Lopifit, the world’s first walking bicycle, giveaways from Coastal Skin Surgery & Dermatology and Eye MD of Niceville, a straightest drive contest sponsored by The Henderson and hole in one chance to win a Buick donated by Lee Buick GMC of Crestview, Florida.

Bracken Law, PA. sponsored the clubhouse, which hosted the after party catered by Landshark’s Pizza Co. Golfers and guests enjoyed live raffles, silent auction, team and individual awards. Winning bidders and raffle prize winners went home with prizes such as a 4-day/3-night Costa Rican stay, GUSU paddle boards, sports memorabilia, local restaurant gift cards, watersports packages, and more.

Co-owners and brokers of Century 21 Blue Marlin, Johnathan Hughes and Jerry Sullivan, continue to be astounded by the community’s support of the charity golf tournament.

“In our fourth year, it’s awe-inspiring to see what this tournament has become,” Hughes said. “Every year we pick a different charity, and every year we are reminded how blessed we are to give back.”

“Having first visited Silver Sands School in 2015, it quickly became the obvious choice for our 2016 Charity Golf Tournament,” said co-broker Jerry Sullivan. “The Silver Sands School staff, students and faculty were so appreciative of our donation and we look forward to seeing what great things come to the students and facility from the funds raised.”

The money raised from the Century 21 Blue Marlin Charity Golf Tournament will be used for augmentative communication for non-verbal students, shades and coverings for the school’s playground and pool, and adaptive equipment for Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy.

Century 21 Blue Marlin would like to extend a special thank you to our generous sponsors including “Head of the Class” sponsor Rodgers Kiefer Title who donated $5,000 to the tournament.

Beach Escapes Realty, Bracken Law PA., Community Bank, Emerald Coast Wealth Advisors of Raymond James, Jim Wheeler Repairs, LLC., Jordan Dennis of C21 Blue Marlin, LuLu's, Orr Quality Pre-Owned, Pyramid Ventures, Spinnaker Realty, Waterstone Mortgage, Buck's Smokehouse, Harry T's, John Lee Nissan/Mazda, Lee Chrysler Dodge and Boogies Watersports were additional tournament sponsors who made generous donations.

The Century 21 Blue Marlin Charity Golf Tournament has raised a total of approximately $85,000 for local charities including The Mary Lynn Burnette Foundation, The Taylor Haugen Foundation, Emerald Coast Golden Retriever Rescue and most recently, Silver Sands School.

Century 21 Blue Marlin will begin accepting nominations for the 2017 Charity Golf Tournament beneficiary February 1, 2017. All interested organizations are encouraged to email Info@ProffittPR.com. Meet the Agents

Recently, Century 21 Blue Marlin has been introducing you to our agents every Monday as a part of #MeetYourAgentMonday! With so many incredible team members, we can't wait for you to meet each and every one of them. Let's recap some of our agents that have been featured, each one of them is passionate about Real Estate and would love to help you buy or sell your next house!

First, we met Mike Johnson, one of the newest members of the Century 21 Blue Marlin team! Originally from El Campo, Texas, Johnson graduated from Texas A&M and owned his own IT business for ten years. But, Johnson and his family fell in love with the Destin area after vacationing there for 18 years, and they finally made the move to the Emerald Coast. While new to the real estate business, Johnson is already a dedicated team member at Century 21 Blue Marlin! "I love meeting new people, showing them properties and seeing the excitement in their faces as they realize this could be their new home," Johnson said.

This friendly approach has enabled Johnson to set himself apart from other realtors, and it is why he is an incredible member of the Century 21 Blue Marlin team. Johnson is too humble to admit his success, and he credits his clients as his motivation to be the best. Because he owned his own business, Johnson uses past experiences to put his clients first and help them in all their Real Estate needs.

Next, meet Jacqui Luberto! Like Johnson, she is also a new member of Century 21 Blue Marlin. Luberto grew up in Pensacola, Florida and has continued to choose the Panhandle as her home. Her knowledge of the area has allowed her to excel as a realtor! Although she is relatively new to the business, Luberto has always had a passion for Real Estate. "I have tried on a number of career hats and finally decided to go back to what I always wanted to do--become a real estate agent," said Luberto.

While Luberto has lived in multiple places on the Emerald Coast, her favorite place to live and work is in the "Heart of Destin". "Winding road, big oaks, and water views from almost every angle! It gives us a glimpse, in many ways, of how the area looked years ago. It's where I live now and where I plan to stay," said Luberto. With the help of Luberto, you too can live like a local in the beautiful place we call home!

Meet Kate Mast, another of our incredible talented agents! Mast has been a part of our team for a while now, but she still continues to wow us with her dedication to her clients! Located in the Navarre/Gulf Breeze area, Mast successfully navigates a career as a Real Estate agent, as well as that of a small business owner!

Mast is the owner of Crave Cupcakes, and she is also the co-owner of Average Joe's CrossFit! She brings her experiences with these two business to aid her as a Real Estate agent. "I am proud of what each of these companies has accomplished over the last couple years and am eager to see what's around the corner," said Mast.

Nick Collins, another #MeetYourAgentMonday participator, works as a Real Estate agent in order to help other military families find the perfect home. "My entire life has been devoted to helping others, so if there is any opportunity to give back to the community, you'll see me there. Real estate is just another way for me to be involved," said Collins.

Collins goes above and beyond by working as a Real Estate agent while continuing to be active duty. Because he is so busy, he knows how important your time is to you, so he will only show you homes that meet your criteria and price range!

And last but not least is Doreen Baca! A world class traveler, Baca uses her knowledge of the different places she has lived in order to help her clients find the perfect home. The longest place she has lived is on the Emerald Coast, which is why she is such an excellent member of the Century 21 Blue Marlin team!

For Baca, Real Estate isn't a job, it is the opportunity to make a difference in the community. "Being a Commercial Realtor is the greatest career on the planet because you can make a difference in so many lives and with just one transaction," said Baca. All of the Century 21 Blue Marlin team members are dedicated to helping you find the perfect home, and we couldn't do it without each of our incredible Real Estate agents! If you're interested in joining the team, please contact Jerry Sullivan or Johnathan Hughes at Century 21 Blue Marlin!
