We are hosting our first
annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, November 15, 2013 at Regatta Bay Golf
and Country Club!
Proceeds benefit the Mary
Lynne Burnett Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization that awards
college scholarships to graduating high school seniors in Okaloosa and Walton
counties. These students have faced
significant adversities in their life, whether a loss of a family member, major
illness or financial hardship due to unforeseen circumstances. One of our
realtor’s, Doug Burnett, started the foundation in memory of his late wife,
Mary, who passed away from breast cancer in 2008.
“The overwhelming kindness
that was shown to my family throughout Mary’s battle truly inspired me to
create the foundation,” said Doug. “I promised Mary I would repay the
generosity of others by paying it forward.”
The tournament will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m.
and a shotgun start at 11 a.m. Entrance
fees are $120 per person and $400 to sign up a foursome. All tournament
players will receive a free lunch courtesy of Lenny’s Sub Shop.
Regatta Bay Clubhouse is
hosting the after party with raffles and live entertainment featuring Donnie
Sundal of Boukou Groove. Both the
tournament and the after party are open to the public.
Both of our co-brokers,
Johnathan Hughes and Jerry Sullivan are thrilled to host an event so dear to
the company's heart.
“We are excited to host
our first charity tournament and hope to continue it as an annual event,” said Johnathan
Hughes.
“We couldn’t be happier
to support our own team member, Doug, by selecting the Mary Lynne Burnett
Foundation as the beneficiary of our tournament.” said Jerry Sullivan. “It
truly means a lot to us to know that the funds will benefit students right here
in Okaloosa and Walton counties.”
Golfers can register
at Blue Marlin Realty Group’s office located on Holiday Isle in Destin or at
Regatta Bay. If interested in sponsoring, please contact Sara Noel Childers of Proffitt PR via
